History:
Jor-El – a Kryptonian scientist was convinced that the Kryptonian sun near the planet Krypton was going to explode, taking the planet with it. He tried to convince the council controling the planet of this, but failed. Unfortunately his fears were confirmed but by the time everyone else realised he was telling the truth, it was too late and all he could do was save his son, Kal-El, from the same fate he and his fellow kryptonians faced by sending him away in a purposely built space craft to a place called earth, where his dense Krypronian molecular structure will give him super powers.
Kal-El's ship crashed to earth amidst a meteor shower in smallville. During said shower, the Kent's were driving along a road near to where Kal-El's ship landed. They found Kal-El, and not being able to have a child themselves, they decided to bring him up as their own. They named him Clark Kent. He was brought up with strong ethics, yet had to rain his abilities in to some extent, so as to fit in with the other students at school where he had a childhood crush on Lana Lang.
At 18 years old, Johnathon Kent, his adopted father died of a heart attack. After that happened, one night he heard something talking to him, coming from the barn. Going out to investigate he finds a luminous green crystal which told him to go to the arctic, which he does so and the crystal is used to create the 'fortress of solitude', which resembles Krypton a little. During his time there, he meets what appears to be a remnant of Jor-El tells him about his past and teaches him about his responcibilities and powers he has on Earth. Twelve years later he flew out of the fortress in his farmiliar blue costume with red cape and yellow underpants.
He goes to live in Metropolis and, as Clark Kent, he becomes a reporter and becomes romantically attracted to a colleague of his, Lois Lane. As Superman he then saves Lois's life after a helicopter she was in crashed and went on to perform a number of other heroic things, causing him to become somewhat of a celebrity. He then takes her out on a sort of date in his super hero guise, then allows her to interview him after, at which Lois gives him his super hero name – 'Superman'.
Lex Luthor, who has plans to destroy California so that the cheap land he bought behind it would be more saught after and therefore raise its price, decided to try and stop Superman from interfering by luring him to his lair and exposing him to kryptonite, which, with pro-longed exposure, would kill him. He was saved by one of Lex's allies however, miss Teschmacher under the condition he stops the missile heading for New Jersey first. He keeps his word, but he is two late to stop the second one, which causes an earthquake which he fights to stop. During all that, Lois gets caught in an avalanche and dies. Superman gets to her, but not in time and in a fit of rage and despair, he spins around the earth, turning back time so that Lois is not caught in the avalanche. He then delivers Lex Luthor and his accomplice Otis to the police.
After all that, Lois gets herself in trouble again, by hiding underneath an elevator in Paris, which terrorists have planted a bomb. Superman saves her at the last minute and carries the elevator into space and kicks it far away from earth so that it could explode safely. Unfortunately the explosion was enough to break out Zod, Non and Ursa – Kryptonian criminals sent to the phantom Zone. They end up going on a rampage on earth after finding themselves with the same powers as Superman has.
Meanwhile, with the help of miss Techmacher, Lex breaks out of prison and finds the fortress along with all the information within it.
While all that was happening, Lois found out about Clark being superman, due to a couple of incidents in Niagra falls. They spent some quality time together, and he took her to his fortress, where he was told to truly be with her, he must become human. He does so, not listening to what has been happening in the world and only concentrating on his own life. After a bar brawl, he realizes what it is to become human and after watching what was happening TV decided he had made the wrong decision. He hitch hiked back to the fortress and with the help of the luminous green crystal, he got his powers back.
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor attempted to befriend Zod and his Allies, with limited success, promising to give them superman. A fight ensued between Superman and Zod and his allies. When Zod tried hurting the humans to get at Superman, he left, with the hope that they would follow him. Taking Lex Luthor (who knew where the fortress was) and Lois Lane (as a hostage) with them. In the ensuing fight, Superman tricks them by letting Lex Luthor think he is trying to get Zod and his allies into the little room that made Superman human. Luthor betrayed him, as he knew he would and Superman was forced into the room instead. Afterward it was revealed that this time it worked in reverse – it only affected the people outside the little room, making Zod and his allies human instead, allowing superman to beat them. He left the fortress with Lois, leaving Lex stranded there. Later Lois decides she finds Clark's whole dual identity as too confusing and gets upset, so Clark kisses her, in a way so that she forgets what happened, including her romantic involvement with him.
Clark Kent then convinces boss to let him return to smallville to go to his high school reunion. On the way he helps extinguish a fire at a chemical power plant. Clark ends up meeting his childhood friend, Lana and discovers she has a son called Ricky. They share affection for each other, much to the dismay of her former boyfriend, Brad.
Meanwhile, Ross Webster, a millionaire enlists the help of A computer genius (and hacker) Gus Gorman to aid him in taking over the worlds supply of coffee. He gets Gus to hack into a satellite to alter the weather in Columbia after they refused to d business with him, with the aim of destroying their crops. Their plans however were thwarted by superman. So remembering a previous interview where Superman revealed kryptonite is his weakness, Ross ordered Gus to find some. He locates some in space, analyses the elements in the kryptonite so he could have some made, but there was an unknown element, which Gus decided to replace with Tar, thanks to a cigarette packet.
Meanwhile Lana convinces Superman to come to Ricky's birthday party, But being a somewhat celeberity, it is turned into a town celebration in Smallville. Disguised as army officers, Gus and Vera presented him with the compound they created to simulate kryptonite. The compound has no effect at first, but then starts affecting him by making him moody and destructive, damaging an oil tanker so that it would spill oil, Ignoring the people who loved him, getting angry, drunk and snapping at people
After flying after the drinking binge, he starts to feel guilty and almost crash lands in a scrap yard. Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent then comes out and they fight each other, ending in Clark strangling Superman, which ends up restoring him to his former self.
Superman then goes to tackle Webster, Gus, Lorelie and Vera. Gus, who has created a super computer. After surviving missiles sent at him by them, he arrived in the base where they were with the super computer. After the super computer weakens Superman with a kryptonite ray, Gus starts feeling guilty and attacks the computer he created, including the ray that was attacking superman, allowing him to escape. The computer then became self aware and defends itself from Gus and starts draining electricity from every where around it. Webster and Lorelie escaspe the control room, but Vera gets sucked into the machine and becomes a cybourg. She pins the others against the wall. Superman then returns with a cannister of Beltric Acid from the chemical plant he saved. The heat from the supercomputer made the acid turn volatile, which ended up destroying the supercomputer. Superman then flies away with Gus, leaving the others to the authorities. After trying to get Guss a job, he goes back to his own, where Lana has got herself a job as secratary to Perry White.
He then went back to Smallville again as Clark Kent and found his old space ship in the barn where he used to live. He finds a green kryptonian energy module, where a recording from his mother says he can only use it once.
On returning to Metropolis he found out the paper he was working for had been taken over by a tabloid newspaper tycoon David Warfield and his daughter had became editor and she sets her sights on Clark. He then finds out that the USA and Soviet Union may be going into nuclear war and he becomes conflicted as to how much he should intervene. After going to the fortress and talking to Lois, he goes to a meeting of the United Nations to tell them he would rid the world of the nuclear weapons. He then collects most of them up into a large net and throws them into the sun.
Meanwhile Lex Luthor breaks out of prison with help of his nephew Lenny. They return to Metropolis and steal a strand of Superman's hair and then creates a genetic matrix and attaches it to a nuclear missile. After test launching it, superman intercepts it and throws it into the sun with the rest. Unfortunately the energy discharged turns into a person and they fly down to earth to find their father – Lex Luthor. Lex soon finds that while the guy is powerful, he loses his powers when the sun goes down. He and superman then get into a fight and superman ends up getting poisoned after getting scratched by the guys finger nails, which are radio active. The guy then kicks superman so hard away that his cape is torn away. After the daily planet reports that Superman may be dead, Lois goes to Clark's apartment with the recovered cape. Ill from radiation sickness, Clark stumbles over to where the energy module was, with the hope that it would heal him.
Nuclear Man developed a crush on Lacy and threatens to run riot unless he meets her. Superman agrees to this to protect everyone else and lures him into an elevator where he trapped him and placed him on the dark side of the moon. It was only a temporary trap however and the guy broke free as soon as the sun came up and fights superman again, with it looking like superman being defeated as he drove superman's body into the moon. The guy returned to the Daily Planet and abducted Lacy. Superman freed himself and pushes the moon out of orbit, causing a total eclipse of the sun, which causes Nuclear man to lose his powers. Superman rescued Lacy, then got rid of Nuclear Man by puttiing him in the core of a nuclear power plant. Superman then re-caught Lex and Lenny,placing Lex back in prison and Lenny in 'Boys Town'.
Since then Clark remains working at the Daily Planet under Perry White again, who took back the paper, while superman strives to keep the world safe and peaceful from wars, criminals and super villains alike in an increasingly more treacherous world.
