HENRIGASTONDUCARD
Name: Henri Gaston Ducard
Nickname(s): The Demon's Head
Age: "I appear to be a vigorous fifty. I am actually a very vigorous six hundred and forty-eight...or is it six hundred and fifty-three? I lost count during the Black Plague. No matter."
Gender: Male
Birthday: Feb 29
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Job: Leader of the League of Shadows
Powers: Due to his vastly expanded life span, Ra’s has accumulated a vast knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, chemistry, medicine, detective artistry, physics, and martial arts (all of which rival that of Batman). He has also gained many international contacts and a vast fortune, gained over centuries. When in combat, he favors more ancient weaponry (as he has had more time to utilize them than modern weaponry). These weapons include katana swords, bolas, throwing stars, smoke pellets, and miniaturized explosives. Ra's is also assisted by his devoted, musclebound servant Ubu.
Ra’s greatest weapons however are his Lazarus Pits, which will heal him of any injury (even if he is recently dead) while de-aging him back to his prime of life. His constant exposure to the pits has also granted him slightly enhanced endurance and healing. Though he has lost love and his own true name to the sands of time, Ra's al Ghul has amassed other riches to fill the treasures of his nomadic kingdom. But his greatest wealth is knowledge, both sacred and profane, culled during his long wanderings. The Demon's Head recently created the Ebola Gulf-A deadly strain dubbed "The Clench" which could kill thousands of people. Ra's al Ghul considers the possible outbreak merely a prelude to a panoply of virulence he will later unleash upon the world, now that he has deciphered the "Wheel of Plagues," an ancient mechanism that unlocked the genetic codes of terrible diseases.

Personality:Ra’s is an eco-terrorist and his purpose with the League of Shadows is to eliminate all evil in the world. He concludes that the only way to do so is to destroy all of humanity and start all over. Ra's believes humanity is lost to corruption and dreams of purging it of its sins. He has used several kinds of violence in his pursuit of "justice" including vigilantism, terrorism, and assassination. To save the planet, he would destroy every last living soul. He would willingly die for his daughter, Talia, but he is not above using her as a pawn to further his goals. He wishes to find someone to marry his daughter Talia so his legacy will last forever.
The person that he found to be worthy of that honor was Batman. "Detective" as he always calls him. Ra's Al Ghul, is the only Batman villain that knows Batman is Bruce Wayne and actually doesn't care. Standing in opposition to his dystopian world order is the Batman, ironically the one man Ra's al Ghul considers worthy enough to win Talia's hand in marriage and inherit Paradise. He views Bruce as his equal. A feat many men have tried to achieve and failed.
In essence that is why he trained him. That is why he said "It should have been you at my side" He has lost all hope for mercy. He thinks justice is found through the complete destruction of his enemies. He recognizes and embraces Bruce's dark side. Ra's sees it and thinks that he is as close to a successor, a son than he'll ever have, which is an internal conflict for him as with having Bruce as an enemy he should destroy him. Yet he restrains himself. As much as he denies it, he views Bruce as the last glimmer of hope for humanity.
Family: Talia al Ghul
Pets: None
History: He was born to a tribe of nomads in a desert somewhere in Arabia, near a city whose inhabitants' ancestors have journeyed to the Arabian Peninsula from China and France. Ra's is interested in science from an early age, and abandons his tribe to live in the city, where he can conduct his scientific research. He becomes a physician and marries a woman named Sora, the love of his life.
Ra's discovers the secret of the Lazarus Pit, and he saves a dying prince by lowering him into it. The prince, who is sadistic to begin with, is driven completely insane by the Lazarus Pit. He proceeds to strangle Sora, on whom he has already had his eye for some time. The ruler of the city, unwilling to admit to himself his son's culpability, declares Ra's guilty of the crime and sentences him to a slow, tortured death in a cage with Sora's corpse.
Ra's is set free by the son of a dying elderly woman, whom Ra's had earlier examined. The son feels that he owes Ra's a debt for easing his mother's suffering during her last few hours. Ra's and the son head into the desert to seek the tribe of Ra's' birth. Ra's convinces the head of his tribe, his uncle, to follow Ra's in his quest for revenge by promising the downfall of the king of the city. By understanding the germ theory of disease hundreds of years before anyone else, Ra's is able to infect the prince with a deadly virus by sending him contaminated fabrics. When the ruler of the city comes to ask Ra's to cure the prince again, Ra's kills both him and his son. Ra's then leads his tribe to raze the city to the ground and kill all of its inhabitants. Subsequently, Ra's declares himself the "Demon's Head.
Ra's heads a worldwide criminal organization, whose mission is to purify a polluted planet, and restore nature to the dominion abridged by the human race, ultimately creating a better world where he would rule. He will use whatever means and force necessary to achieve his twisted vision of a new Utopian society. Ra's is always accompanied by his faithful bodyguard, Ubu. His madness originates in the unique power source which maintains his body's appearance, The Lazarus Pit. It is a substance of unknown elements which replenishes the body, like a fountain of youth. The side affects however are spells of sheer madness. Being addicted to this substance for so long has dried any bit of morals and values for Ra's Al Ghul. He views himself as above any preset laws which are governed by mankind. He has many followers, and heads a cult like organization filled with men who will do his bidding. He is extremely dangerous and cunning.
His interest in Batman arose when he felt the Lazarus Pits affect was dwindling. Ra's feels he needs a male to be his successor. Since his only offspring is his daughter Talia, he has to choose a male to marry her that is worthy of becoming ruler of his vast empire. Ra's proves his resourcefulness to Batman by meeting the "Detective" as he calls him, in his own Batcave confirming that he knows his secret. Upon implementing many tests to prove whether Batman was worthy of becoming his successor, Ra's knew immediately he had found the one. But Batman refused numerous times, and thus Ra's believes that since he will not be with him, they must be against each other, as enemies. He is highly sophisticated and can be quite hypnotic. Ra's has returned many times after Batman thinks has foe had perished.
Notably, he went by the name Henri Ducard and acted as a mentor to a young Bruce Wayne, teaching him the martial arts trainings and ninjitsu methods that he would one day use as Batman. During this time, Ducard hides behind a decoy Ra's al Ghul. The decoy was killed while battling Bruce. In a later confrontation, the real Ra's al Ghul is apparently killed in a train wreck. Ra's did jest to Bruce that he as an idea is immortal at Bruce Wayne's birthday party. He was indirectly responsible for the death of Bruce's parents when he tried to destroy Gotham City by ruining the city's economy which led to an economic depression and to the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
Talia was prompted to read the history of Ra's al Ghul by a mysterious figure from Ra's' past: the White Ghost. Unbeknownst to her, the White Ghost planned to use Damian as a vessel for Ra's' return. Ra's al Ghul returned, having evaded death by transferring his consciousness into the body of another. Ra's attempted to make amends with Batman after his resurrection, but Batman responded by crushing his fingers. Ra's accepted this latest rebuke and is determined to destroy him.
Role Play Sample: Dean pretended he was asleep. He had to know what his brother was getting up to. Too many lies and vague answers were building up. It was getting hard to tell what was true anymore. He didn't want the line to become so blurred that he would just accept everything like a child. He had caught Sam sneaking off again a week before that. He'd spent months just going along with it and pretending things were fine and he was sick of it. He wanted answers and he wanted them now and if Sam wasn't gonna tell him then he would find out for himself. He decided to bide his time. Sooner or later, Sam would head out again.
Sam got a rather strange phone call that night and was acting a bit strangely. Dean didn't bother asking what it was about this time. He didn't want to keep fighting with Sam. A part of him hoped that it was all in his mind and that he wouldn't have to lose faith in his brother. Sam was the most important person in his life and if he couldn't trust him, how could he pretend to trust anyone else? The thought bothered him immensely as he lay there. When he heard the door shut tightly, he jumped out of bed and got dressed as quickly as he could. He followed Sam at a bit of a distance, not wanting to set off alarms that he was not far behind. He mused for a moment or so when he saw Sam go inside of a really run-down building. He had no idea what Sam would be doing in a place like that. Maybe they were having a rave? He didn't see Sam as the drug addict type but who was he to make that call?
He approached as silently as he possibly could. He was used to stealth tracking so it wasn't a problem. He looked in the window of the building and couldn't believe what he saw. His brother and a woman who looked familiar standing near a man tied to a chair. It was stranger than he imagined it to be. The first thing that entered his mind was that Sam had joined a strange sadistic cult, but that would be so unlike him. Many more conclusions raced through his mind and the only thing he could really do would be walk in and find out for himself. He moved away from the window and kicked the door in loudly. He was done playing games. "What the hell is going on here, Sam? Who is she? Why do you have some poor bastard tied up?" Dean had no idea it was a demon do he took out his knife and headed for the chair.
Dean continued to move forward in a determined manner. He had no choice in his mind. All ha could see was an innocent person in a bad situation. He moved a bit faster when he heard the man's plea for help. "What do you mean, no?" He slowed his pace a bit waiting for his brother to continue. "You mean like, by a demon?" His expression was puzzled and increased in that manner when his brother moved between him and the man in the chair. He looked around Sam and saw that there was a Devil's Trap on the floor. "Huh."
